In short:<\/strong> In the Classic Editor, click Add Media<\/strong>. In the block editor, add an Image<\/strong> block. Upload a file or pick one from your Media Library, add alt text, then save your post. Compress large photos before you upload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic Editor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click in the text where you want the image to go.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click Add Media<\/strong> above the toolbar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Choose Upload Files<\/strong> to add a new image, or Media Library<\/strong> to reuse one you have uploaded before.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Select the image. On the right, fill in Alternative Text<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Under Attachment Display Settings<\/strong>, choose an alignment and a size.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Click Insert into post<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    To change the image later, click it in the editor and use the small toolbar that appears. The pencil icon opens the size and alt text settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Block editor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Click the +<\/strong> button where you want the image to go, or type \/image<\/code> on an empty line and press Enter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. In the Image block, click Upload<\/strong> to add a new image, or Media Library<\/strong> to reuse one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. With the image selected, open the settings sidebar (the panel icon at the top right). On the Content<\/strong> tab, fill in Alternative text<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Use the block toolbar above the image to change its alignment, or drag its corner handles to resize it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Tip:<\/strong> To add several images at once, use a Gallery<\/strong> block instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The image is part of your post, so remember to save: Publish<\/strong> or Update<\/strong> in the Classic Editor, Publish<\/strong> or Save<\/strong> in the block editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
