Lab Information

The Interaction Design Lab (B3110 & B3114) is a prototyping and production space for interactive products, systems and services located within the program area’s classroom and studio. Well-equipped electronics and VR workstations are set in a collaborative environment with the resources to design, prototype, and test interactive projects.

Schedule

Campus technician support is available Monday – Friday. Interaction Design technician support for Spring 2026 is available Thursday & Friday 10-5.

During the Summer Intersession technician hours will fluctuate. Email directly for questions and support.

Fall 2026 an Interaction Design technician is available Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday from 10-5 pm.

We may send out general announcements or inquiries through your cohort’s Mattermost.com channel.

2026 / 2027 Access

Priority will be granted to INTD Hybrid classes and advanced project work.

Safe Work and Sanitation

  • We recommend washing or sanitizing your hands upon entering the studio (sink available, sanitizer provided).
  • There is a kitchen in B3110 with a studio fridge, microwave, kettle, and a small assortment of dishes. We advise bringing your own drinking vessels and cutlery.
  • 2nd, 3rd, and 4th yr cohorts are responsible for keeping the kitchen area clean which includes washing any dishes. Dish soap, sponges, and rags have been provided.
  • Follow all posted signage about safe work.
  • Technicians will be on site during posted hours for support.
  • Note: the information above may be subject to change.

The lab is for Emily Carr student, faculty and staff use only.
