In short: Find your post under Posts in the Dashboard and click Edit, or open the post on your site and click Edit Post in the black bar on the top of the page. Make your changes, then click Update (Classic Editor) or Save (block editor).
From the Dashboard
- Go to your Dashboard and click Posts.
- Point to the title of the post you want to change. Links appear below it.
- Click Edit. If you see two links, Edit (block editor) and Edit (classic editor), choose the editor the post was written in.

Tip: Stick with the editor the post was made in. Opening a block editor post in the Classic Editor can mess up its layout. See Editors: Classic vs block.
From your site
- While logged in, open the post on your site.
- Click Edit Post in the black bar at the top of the screen.

Save your changes
- Classic Editor: click Update in the Publish box on the right.
- Block editor: click Save at the top right.
Changes to a published post go live as soon as you save.
Good to know
- You can edit your own posts. Editing other people’s posts depends on your role on the site.
- WordPress keeps earlier versions of your post. Look for Revisions in the Publish box (Classic Editor) or the post settings sidebar (block editor) to compare or restore one.
- To remove a post, point to its title in the Posts list and click Trash. Trashed posts are deleted for good after 30 days.
